(from the NaPoWriMo prompt: write a poem that features forgotten technology.)[I have a lot of students who know what those things are and today, in just one day, I have used the terms "Zoom," "Screencastify," "Kami," "remote distance learning," and "stream" more times than I can count. So, I think what the prompt really wanted me to do was talk about something old that people think of as old or quaint. Also, I didn't want to write about that other stuff.]
I have a jump rope
that is brand new
even though it’s
a pretty old idea.
Actually, I have three—
one in the garage
and one on a hook
in the basement
workout area.
The other one is
still in the box. I
like jumping rope
but it hurts, so I don’t.
