2019 Micro-hobby: A Poem a Month

Updated: Mar 31, 2019

My micro-hobby for the year is to put out a new poem, in whatever shape, once a month.

I'm doing this for a variety of reason that are mostly selfish. I don't get a chance to write as often as I would like and this forces me to write and revise often. This also gets me (will get me?) more comfortable with putting my writing out into the world. My first collection of poetry, Ancient Memories, only saw the light of day because my mother was dying and said, in her oh-so-dramatic way, that she just wished she could see me in print once before "the end." She may have also mentioned that she'd spent a "hell of a lot of money" on my education and "what has that gotten me?"

Oh, Mother...

So, this year, I will be putting one poem a month, on the first of each month, out into the world. These poem are all slated for my next collection, So Many Fishes, which I hope to have out by the end of the year.
